Business Central Team Member Licenses with the Jet Excel add-in

This article applies to using the Jet Excel Add-in (2019 or higher) with Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Overview

The Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Member subscription is a named user subscription designed for users who are not tied to a particular function, but who require basic Dynamics 365 Business Central functionality.  This license includes read access as well as some write access for select light tasks across Dynamics 365 Business Central functionality for a given tenant.  (Dynamics 365 Business Central Licensing Guide )

Business Central Team Members can use Jet Reports and Jet Report Financials.

Example

1. Here we see a user who is assigned to the D365 Team Member user group and has been assigned the necessary Jet Reports user permission set:

   

   As compared to Dynamics 365 Business Central Essentials or Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium users:

   

With either Jet Reports or Jet Reports Financials , we can have a Dynamics 365 Business Central data source



2. If our Team Member user were to log in, the login would be successful.

   

   

And, if we were to start the Jet Reports Browser , that user has access to the necessary data within Business Central.
