Set Dimension Hierarchy Properties

In the Jet Data Manager , it is possible to manage dimension hierarchy properties to have flexible control over the hierarchies. This article outlines how to set this and what the properties represent.

1. To set dimension hierarchy properties, first right-click the dimension hierarchy that you wish to set the properties for and click "Edit Hierarchy":

   

2. This will then display the Hierarchy window:

   

   The settings at the bottom of this window for hierarchy properties are:

   Setting	Description
   Allow Duplicate Names	Determines whether duplicate names are allowed in the parent hierarchy
   Member Keys are Unique	Determines whether the member keys under the parent must be unique
   Member Names are Unique	Determines whether the member names under the parent must be unique
