New Connector for Jet Reports into Microsoft Business Central In version 20.8 . 

We are making available a new connector for Business Central, based on the OData API. This new connector is significantly faster than the existing SOAP connection.  The new connector installs in minutes, requiring the installation of an extension to Business Central. You can access the new OData connector through our Early Adopter Program until we release the next version of Jet Reports in Q1, 2021. Jet partners and customers interested in using the new connector should contact insightsoftware support and request access to the installer for the extension.  The new connector is available for users of Jet 20.8 and Business Central 16 and above. At the end of the Early Adopter Program, we plan to publish the extension through Microsoft AppSource.   Additionally, we have validated this version of Jet Reports against Business Central, 2020 Wave 2.

Jet Budgets Performance Improvements	The objective of this feature is to improve the user experience when using Jet Budgets by reducing the bottleneck situations that may cause a degradation of performance. The feature encompasses several enhancements and they respond to specific feedback from current users.
Enhance Scheduler Task Editor	This is the conclusion of the work started in release 20.3 to enhance the new Report Scheduler made available with release 20.2. The scheduler is used to schedule and automate the distribution of reports to selected recipients across the organization.
Extend Jet Budget Security and Permissions	This feature increases the options available to assign responsibilities over a give budget or work items of a budget.
Enable Jet Budgets Read Only Users	This release introduce the Budget Viewer. They are users given the ability to access a given budget and report on its numbers without the ability to add or modify anything. The budget viewers can run reports using the GL( JetBudget ) function. These users will also have access to the Overview page of the budget. Administrators can edit existing users to give them this permission, even after they have been added the budget with a different role To assign a user as Viewer, there is a new checkbox in the menu listing the users assigned to a budget.
GP Scalability	Improved scalability in GP GL function with a segment or category filter that selected too many accounts could cause SQL Server to create a query plan.

Business Central Data Source Connection	Dynamics 365 Business Central users can connect Jet Reports directly to their Business Central data base.  Each user can use their Office 365 credentials to make their connection.
Simulate Jet Reports Financials within your Jet Reports Excel add-in	For those Business Central customers and partners needing to support both Jet Reports and Jet Reports Financials , a new simulation mode has been added to Jet Reports to allow you to use the full Excel add-in as through it were an installation of Jet Reports Financials.

Domain Change for NAV Logins	Those Dynamics NAV users whose data resides outside their standard Windows domain can now specify the necessary domain as part of the username in their data source settings.
Help Menu Updated	The Jet Help Menu has been simplified to correspond to the consolidation of the Jet Reports Support, Help, Knowledgebase, and Community web sites. All of these can be accessed through the single Help Center option.
Specifying Domain Name during Login	In the Jet Web Portal, you can change the domain name associated with your login by entering a different name using either down-level (also known as 'server/username') format or UPN (also known as 'email') format.
Context Sensitive (right-click) Menus	The Jet Web Portal now features right-click menus that reflect the same options available on the action panel.
Easier Scheduling	In the Jet Web Portal, scheduled tasks can be created directly form the Reports List by selecting the desired report(s), and then either selecting Schedule from the action pane or right-clicking and selecting Schedule from the context menu.
Options for Opening Reports	To help everyone understand how to open reports in the Jet Web Portal, once you select one or more reports and click Open you will be prompted to decide if you want to open the reports with Excel Online or want to download the report and open it with an installed version of Excel.
Timeout Feature	When the Jet Web Portal has been left inactive for 20 minutes, a 60-second reminder will be displayed asking if you wish to stay logged in.  If no response is received, you will be logged out.  When you log back in, you will be taken directly to the screen you were on when your session timed out.
Support for More Jet Features	In Jet 2018, the Jet Web Portal supports Dashboard mode as well as the NL(Picture) and NP(Slicer) functions.
