System Requirements for Jet Excel Add-In

To ensure a fast and successful deployment of the Jet Excel Add-In, please review the content included in this checklist prior to your scheduled installation.

System Requirements

  • Operating System (Includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions): Microsoft Windows Server 2016 - 2022, Windows 10-11

    Note: We do not support any MAC OS

  • Web Browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge

    (Note: We support the latest versions only. Cookies must be enabled in browser)

  • Database/ERP Connection:1, Microsoft Dynamics GP version 9 or later, 2, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (10.0.25), Microsoft SQL Server 2014 - 2022, OLE or ODBC compliant database for universal data source connection (NAV 2017 compatibility requires version 16.0.16252.0 or higher)

  • Prerequisites: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8, TLS Certificate 1.2+, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID or Microsoft 365 authentication

  • Recommended Hardware: Processor: 1.8 GHz, RAM: 16 GB, Available Disk Space: 3 GB

  • Microsoft Office: Microsoft Office 2016- 2021

    Microsoft 365 (Desktop Edition Only delivered through Microsoft's Enterprise Semi Annual Channel)

    (Note: ISW recommends only one installation of MS Office be present, we cannot support installations where multiple copies of MS Office are installed on a single system.)

Required Information:

  • A valid Jet Reports license and activation code.
  • In order for installation to be completed ‘Administrator’ credentials will need to be entered. A user with ‘Administrator’ rights will need to be available to enter those credentials.
  • For Microsoft Dynamics NAV/GP (on premise): the server name or IP address where your database/instance resides.
  • For Microsoft Dynamics NAV/GP (hosted/Azure): the server name or IP address where your database/instance resides in addition to DNS and endpoints properly configured for external connectivity.
  • For Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013-2017 (Web Services): The Jet Reports Business Objects (.fob) matching your version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the Jet Excel add-in must be imported.
  • For Universal SQL Server based data sources: the server name or IP address where your database resides.
  • For ODBC or OLE complaint databases: the required ODBC or OLE driver installed and configured for your database. (this is also true when using the Jet Service Tier to store your data source settings - the driver must be installed on your computer)
