How to Refresh a Database Schema in the Jet Excel add-in
Overview
There may be times, especially when doing development work with Jet Analytics, when a new table or field may be added to a database that the user is currently reporting from using the Jet Excel add-in.
To be able to include this new data in reports, the the database schema must be refreshed. The database schema is typically only refreshed when Excel is opened, and sometimes it is not desirable to close all instances of Excel in order to see a new table or field that was just added.
Process
In order to force the Jet add-in to refresh the schema of the database it is currently reporting from, the user simply needs to open the Data Source Settings and then click OK on the Data Source Settings window.
