Reporting Credits in Reports Center
Reporting credits in the Reports Center are a resource-based system designed to manage and track the usage of the reporting capabilities within the platform. This system ensures fair resource distribution and allows users to monitor their reporting activities effectively.
Reporting Credits
Reporting credits are units that represent the computational resources required to run reports. Every action related to running and scheduling reports in the Reports Center consumes a certain number of credits, depending on the complexity and size of the operation.
Key features of reporting credits
Assigned per Organization: Credits are allocated to each organization within the platform and are shared collectively among all users in that organization.
Transparency: Users can monitor their remaining credits and track credit consumption for each report or scheduled execution.
Scalability: Larger, more complex reports consume a greater number of credits, ensuring that resources are allocated proportionally based on usage.
Accountability: Credit usage metrics provide insights into how credits are spent.
Consumption of Reporting Credits
Executing reports: Running a report consumes credits based on the size of the report and the complexity of calculations.
Scheduling reports:
Scheduling a report to run at a specific time deducts credits at the time of running reports.
Each instance of a recurring schedule consumes credits.
Running Out of Reporting Credits
Report execution and scheduling:
If the organization runs out of credits, reports and schedules will not run.
In-progress reports:
If a report or schedule is in progress when the organization exhausts its credits, it will be completed. However, any subsequent reports or schedules will not run.
User notifications:
Report running buttons will be disabled, and users attempting to select these buttons will encounter error messages.
Scheduled reports:
If a schedule attempts to run automatically while the organization is out of credits, the recipients will receive a one-time email notification alerting them about the credit exhaustion.
Assign and Manage Report Credits
Credit assignment:
Credits are purchased in monthly allotments as per the organization’s contract. Each credit corresponds to ten minutes of report run time.
Monthly reset:
Credits reset at the beginning of each month, providing the organization with a fresh allocation. Unused credits do not carry forward to the next month.
Shared pool:
Credits are shared among all users within the organization, enabling flexible utilization based on individual or team requirements.
Manage and monitor reporting credits
Users can track their reporting credit usage in the following ways:
