Connecting Jet Reports Directly to Microsoft Fabric

Connecting Jet Reports directly to Microsoft Fabric enables you to pull live Fabric OneLake data into Jet-powered Excel Reports.

To connect Jet Reports to Microsoft Fabric, follow the procedures in the below sections.

Add Data Source

To add data source, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Data Source Settings > Add Data Source. The software displays a modal for configuring data source.

  2. Define the following data source properties:

    • Name, for example Fabric Connection.

    • Database Type, for example Other (Universal).

  3. Click Add.

You have added the data source. You can now proceed with configuring the connection.

Configure the Data Source Connection

To configure the data source connection, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Data Source Settings > Connection and click Configure. The software displays Data Link Properties modal.

  2. In Data Link Properties > Provider, select the data you want to connect to, for example Microsoft OLE DB Driver 19 for SQL Server.

  3. Navigate to Data Link Properties > Connection and define the following properties:

    • Server Name

    • Information to log on to server (dropdown)

    • User name

    • Database – you can choose from a dropdown or attach a database file as a database name.

  4. Click OK.

You have configured the connection. Now, you may proceed with testing the connection. You can test the connection by clicking the Test Connection option in Data Source Settings.
