Clearing Cached Credentials
Issue
Jet Reports stores cached login credentials for two purposes:
- Authenticating against the insightsoftware Platform for licensing.
- Authenticating against Dynamics 365 Business Central data sources using Microsoft 365 authentication.
If you are experiencing authentication issues with either of these, clear the relevant cache using the steps below.

Resolution
Clear the insightsoftware Platform Login Cache
Follow these steps to remove the cached insightsoftware Platform credentials.
Steps - insightsoftware Platform Cache
- Close Excel completely.
- Open Windows File Explorer.
- Type %localappdata% in the address bar and press Enter.
- Open the insightsoftware folder.
- Delete the default.b2c-cache file.
- Open Excel, go to Jet Reports, click the Login button on the ribbon, and sign in with your insightsoftware Platform account.
Clear the Dynamics 365 Business Central Data Source Login Cache
Follow these steps to remove the cached Business Central credentials.
Steps - Business Central Cache
- Close Excel completely.
- Open Windows File Explorer.
- Type %appdata% in the address bar and press Enter.
- Open the Jet Reports folder.
- Delete the MsalCache.bin file.
- Open Excel, go to Jet Reports > Settings > Data Source Settings > Authentication, click Log In, and sign in with your Business Central account.
Additional Notes
Deleting these cache files does not affect your Jet Reports configuration or data source settings. The files are recreated automatically when you log in again.
