We are pleased to announce the availability of Jet Reports version 24.2, which includes new AI capabilities and the continuation of performance improvements with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The salient features of this release include:

New AI Assistant

Insightsoftware is introducing a suite of AI capabilities through the insightsoftware Platform, enhancing team productivity. The first service, AI Doc Assist, is available in Jet Reports 24.2. It acts as an intelligent assistant, providing instant answers from user documentation and knowledge base articles, saving time and allowing focus on core financial tasks.

AI Doc Assist can help with:

Configuring BC On- premises data source
Speeding up a Jet Report
Managing Jet user licenses

All Platform users on 24.2 can preview AI Doc Assist via the Jet Reports Add-in ribbon. It does not process personal or financial data, ensuring privacy and data security.

Installer Updates

To simplify the installation experience, the Jet Reports Excel add-in installer and Jet Service Tier installer have been separated. Now, customers who only wish to install the Jet Reports Excel add-in no longer need to install the Jet Service Tier. Additionally, documentation included within the installer has been updated, ensuring the information provided is accurate and up to date.

Jet Hub Scheduler Updates

To ensure Jet Hub customers have a seamless experience when utilizing the new Jet Hub Scheduler, updates have been made to simplify the process for identifying and updating monthly tasks that were created with the old scheduler. All tasks created with the old scheduler will need to be updated to utilize within the new Jet Hub Scheduler. Now, tasks created with the old scheduler will be color coded and include the task information when clicked, making it easier for Jet Hub users to update old tasks with the correct information within the new Jet Hub Scheduler window.

Report Lookup

To improve the user experience when utilizing the Report Options – Lookup functionality, reports options are now automatically suggested when users start typing within the search bar.

Pre-cache Joining

To continue improving Jet Reports’ performance with Business Central, a new pre-cache joining functionality has been added to reduce the number of individual queries executed when processing reports with joined Business Central tables. By reducing the number of individual queries, Jet Reports users can expect faster report run times. The new Pre-Cache Joining setting is a part of the performance tab settings and is enabled by default.

Resolved Issues

Corrected an issue where the MSALCache token for the service database was writing to the incorrect account. (6654)
Corrected an issue with BC data sources using MFA where authentication token was resetting authentication status when trying to upload to the Jet Hub from the Excel add-in. (7001)
Corrected an issue in BC SaaS where Drilldown returns errors against Sales Line and Purchase Line tables. (7032)
Corrected an issue where NL()"filter" functions were returning no results because empty filter error with cache tables enabled. (7129)
Updated error message for GL function when running against data sources that do not support it. (7189)
Corrected an issue that occurred while using CacheTables and sorting included special characters. (7309)
Corrected an issue in BC23+ where Flowfields of Calc type "Exists" don't work when based on another extension field. (7413)
